Story so far.....

Something from Nothing.
Established in 2016 by friends and work colleagues Mackinlay Smith & Tim Cole.

Both were tired of their relentless, monotonous jobs working for large fashion retailers with no unique character or vision for sustainability.

The concept grew from a bedroom flat while Mackinlay was working as a designer in Melbourne, Australia.
Upon returning to the UK, Mackinlay & Tim came together to forge their love of contemporary Japanese and Scandinavian design.
All tied together by their love of electronic music!

The operation had now moved from apartment to garage as the business grew - allowing them to find new ways to use colour, washes and fits and sourcing routes.

Our designs are not mass produced meaning Okuh constantly reinvent small numbers of unique designs.

We’re on a mission as a business to be as sustainable as possible, putting it at the heart of the design process. Using simple, creative, design cues which try to find new cool uses for recycled materials.
